PITC is an intensive relationship-based training curriculum whose videos, interactive training sessions and training materials are designed to help child care teachers and administration become sensitive to infant's cues, connect with their family and culture and develop responsive relationship-based care. The goal is to help teachers recognize intellectual development. The training provides the foundation for a style of care in which caregivers study the infants and toddlers in their care, reflect on and record information about the children's interests and skills and develop ways to set the stage for the child's next learning encounters. It emphasizes the importance of the connection between the family and the child's ability to learn and grow.
